Professor Rabi N. Subudhi is a distinguished Senior Professor of
Management with an extensive teaching career spanning over 37
years. He is widely recognized for his engaging pedagogy in Applied
Statistics and Research Methodology, earning a reputation as a
sought-after educator among postgraduate management students.
He holds a Master's and an M.Phil. in Statistics, followed by a Ph.D.
in Management, supported by the prestigious Senior Research
Fellowship (SRF) from the Council of Scientific and Industrial
Research (CSIR), Government of India. Prof. Subudhi further
enriched his academic credentials at the Indian Institute of
Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), completing the Faculty Development
Program in Management (FDPM) in 2001. He also underwent advanced training in computer
applications at IIT Kharagpur and TTTI Chandigarh, under government sponsorship.
Prof. Subudhi began his academic journey at Berhampur University, Odisha, where he served for two
decades before joining VIT University in 2006. He returned to Odisha in 2007 to take up a senior
academic leadership role at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, as Professor of Management and
Chairperson of the MBA Program (PGP Chair). Over the years, he has served on several academic and
administrative bodies, including the Board of Studies (BoS), Staff and Lecturer Recruitment
Committees (SLRC), and University Academic Councils.
Currently, he serves as Mentor and Advisor at the School of Management, Centurion University of
Technology and Management (CUTM), continuing to guide young scholars and faculty in research
and academic development.
A former President of the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI), Bhubaneswar Chapter, Prof.
Subudhi played a pivotal role in revitalizing the chapter, leading it to national prominence. He served
for over a decade as Chief Editor of Parikalpana: KIIT Journal of Management, a UGC-CARE-listed,
peer-reviewed journal, and has also guest-edited special issues of international journals.
Prof. Subudhi is a prolific scholar, having authored 17 books and over 100 research papers published
in reputed national and international journals and conference proceedings. He has presented his
work at more than 60 academic conferences, including 20 international conferences, and has been
invited to speak or serve as resource person at over 40 faculty development programs and workshops sponsored by UGC, AICTE, ICAR, CSIR, and ICSSR. Notably, he chaired a session at the International
Sociological Association (ISA) conference at the University of Leicester, UK, on “Research Methods in
Social Sciences.”
His scholarly books have been published by globally recognized publishers such as Springer and
Emerald Publishing. He has successfully supervised 15 doctoral scholars and completed five major
funded research projects (national and international) amounting to over USD 120,000 in grants.
